A little while ago I chanced upon an article called “True Religion” on The Secret Sun blog. 'Twas about the writer’s empathies with the mourners who took to the Indian Ocean at sunset following Heath Ledger's wake at the Indiana Tea House in Cottesloe, Western Australia. Ledger's sister, Kate and his ex-girlfriend, Michelle Williams were amongst them. This article was inspired by ‘True Religion’ written by Christopher Knowles, so thank you. (1)

This is another one of those articles that regulars will recognise, one that insists upon its readers to keep their wits about them. Connecting threads abound from one end to the other.

New York - the Big Apple - on 22nd January. Number 22 the number of the Tarot Fool, aka ‘Le Fou’ or ‘Le Mat’ - the Joker! On the same day, but 39 anni-steps earlier, on 22nd January 1969 the Beatles moved to their Apple (Corps) Studios and recorded 'Let It Be', a song with lyrics that came to Paul McCartney in a dream about his mother in 1968. (She was born Mary Mohan - MM, initials she was to keep for the rest of her life). (2)

'Apple Corps' was a word-play on ‘Apple Core’, which itself is an intimation of the core’s pentagram shape. Such a curious allusion to the Goddess Venus: she who was born of the sea, of the foamy surf! The Mer-maid, Mary! Mer-chants...or trade-wind songs in supplication to the Goddess...and to pay for later. She is always around

in the crying-times be they doubt, difference or separation indeed. Apples are the fruit of Taurus the constellation governed by Venus. (3)

(3) The Beatles’ song, Here Comes the Sun, from their Abbey Road album was played during         the service - the one that featured all four Beatles crossing over (the zebra crossing). Black       and white featured prominently in Heath Ledgers life - in his films, he was a junior chess           champion, and even his surname connotes with (written in) black and white.

THY WILL BE DONE

When I find myself in times of trouble
Mother Mary comes to me

At such times the pain for us who are left behind can seem unbearable and perhaps that siren-sight - from the restrictions of the wake - of a heavenly pale beach, caressed by sparkling blue waters in the last dance of the sun would call us all in...to a beautiful and cathartic retreat, in the warm saline sweetness of an in-between world, comforted by the safety and surety of a surrogate womb; while faraway, over the horizon, where the ocean drips, the sun brings new life to other people in other lands - at least for a while.

And when the broken hearted people
Living in the world agree,
There will be an answer, let it be...

There is undoubtedly an intensely spiritual sense to this liminal Aquarian SoLunar ritual conducted on the eventide of 9th February 2008 around a long-sacred pylon (an abandoned twin) and portrayed by media as an ostensibly spur-of-the-moment let-go. It was the 3rd day of a new moon, the 5th day after Lughnasadh climax, the feast day of Saint Apollonia (the patron saint of dentists) and (a Tarot Lunar) '18' days after the actor died in
