This study is a work in progress
Through the site of the circular henge structure between St. Giles Street and Blackhall Road
publicly notified in July 2008:
In a direct line northwestwards (approx. 303° NW)
a. The War Memorial (which stands on the site of an ancient pool) in front of
St Giles Church (and the Oxford-Bonn and Oxford-Leiden twinning monuments).
d. Black Jack's Hole (deep hole in the otherwise shallow Thames at this point)
e. Godstow lock
Goes onwards to the Seacourt Stream/Thames confluence and even further to earthworks near Charlbury and Sarsden Glebe Farm south of Chipping Norton.
r. Church Army Evangelist Church
t. The original site of Cowley Manor. Became a
Military College then in 1913 Morris Motors first
factory before it became Nuffield Press. Now
turned into apartments.
u. Morris Monument
v. Eastern By-Pass/Garsington Road (Interchange)
Flyover/Crossroads Roundabout
w. Pressed Steel, now BMW
x. The place where a group of us children had a
mysterious incident with a 'helicopter'.
z. Chapel, Chalgrove
