Part four

A five part, true and intriguing tale of beauty and her continuing triumph over evil.

On 16th June I went for a walk in the fields just north of the Baldons, between Toot Baldon and the priory. It was another beautiful day. Every now and then I would stop and look over to St Mary’s on the hill. After about an hour or so I stopped and looked over again to the old church and again I heard the whispered voice, and it said, ‘The Goddess walks.’ There was no exclamation, no hooray! It just said, ‘The Goddess walks’.

“Does this mean that she is healed?’ I asked; but there was no answer. I hoped so and I thought if we get a crop circle today then that will be my answer. (I don’t think we did, but a grass circle was reported to the southeast of the church in Denton. Unfortunately it was badly wind damaged.) (16)  I carried on with my walk, thoughtful still, but my heart was a little lighter. If the Goddess walks she must be, in some way mobile at least. But how far can she walk, and how free is she to choose the direction she goes? In my mind, in this instance, I perceived the Goddess to be the energetic stream that fires the streams of the Gaian Grid through Garsington hill.

I came to a sharp corner in the hedge and as I rounded it I saw a body lying underneath it; t’was a man lying on his stomach. He was dark haired, quite swarthy looking and dressed in a white shirt and black trousers…and then it vanished. I thought his dress belonged to about 40 or 50 years ago perhaps. Another yard further and I almost stepped on a bone, quite a large one.

The next day I went up to St Mary’s again. Unfortunately the church was locked but I as I was undisturbed I was able to reflect a little and then carry out an initial dowsing foray of the exterior. According to psychic information I received there was once a stone circle up on this hill. The circle comprised of 33 stones and each stone marked a stream of energy. I was told that the site is a hub. Perhaps this is why I was drawn to the stone path with the large slab on my previous visit? Only 10 of the streams were active, and they were intermittent, stuttering one might say. Most of the dowse-able points of flow were from the buttresses and only a few of the windows. One surprised me, emanating from the wall rather than the window next to it. No energy is coming from the tower whatsoever. I was told that the centre of the original stone circle is within the church itself. I recorded the flow directions and noted that several of the streams made straight for an old dovecote in a garden just to the north. I wrote to a few friends and acquaintances about these discoveries as well as the events leading up to it. One thing I mentioned was a large stone that I remembered from my childhood that, from my recollection, used to lie over a stream not far away. I wondered whether this could have been an original circle stone.

Before dawn on 21st June two friends and I went up to Sinodun Hill for the Solstice.  Another person turned up the same time as we did. Before the sun came up I went over to have a chat with him. He was waiting on some work colleagues. He began to tell me about his dowsing work that he had done around the Dorchester and Wittenham area and I told him about St Mary’s Church, the scaffolding and sheets of metal.
“They’ve built a Faraday Cage,” he exclaimed. Now, having spent science lessons at school looking out the window, doodling and catapulting inky paper at my mates I couldn’t remember what a Faraday Cage was. At that point his friends, about half a dozen ladies turned up and I rejoined my friends. When I got home I looked up ‘Faraday Cage’ and understood the dowser’s dramatic response. A Faraday Cage, for fellow scallywags, is a device that prohibits the flow of electromagnetic energy - which is what the Gaian Grid works on, what lots of things work on, including human beings.

It was the following week, I think, that I next visited Garsington church. I could hear the gardener busy cutting the grass and he looked over as I made my way along the gravel path towards the building. I was in luck the church was opened so I turned the handle and pressed open the heavy door. She still felt forlorn but I could feel a very slight improvement. It wasn’t just me who was sending healing energy to the hill; other concerned friends were also assisting. No one else was in the church so I felt comfortable about attempting to find out where the centre of the stone circle was, but I suspected it would be at the altar. The church is oriented slightly off east-west so the altar is north of east. The interior of the main body of the church is laid out in cruciform fashion. The lectern is in the southeast corner of where the arms of the cross meet. Between the altar and the lectern are the chorister’s stalls. I found the spot I was looking for and it is precisely in the centre of the cross (see picture top of page). In days of yore, and probably still, the great and the good, the Lord’s and Ladies of the Manor would have parked their bums closer to this position than anywhere, or anyone, else. Of course the minister, the choir and everyone taking communion also passes through the heart of the circle. There are windows at both ends of the cross arm, but the organ covers the northern light. I noted that under the carpet there is a small tile memorial almost on this spot. I solved the mystery I mentioned earlier where the energy was exiting from the wall rather than the adjacent window. Right at this spot is a piscina. I was pondering on whether this might be the location of the petit well (petit well - small spring), that the close-by road is named after, when the organist arrived; so I thought it prudent to follow up my research at a later date. He was chatty and friendly. I wondered whether he realised what a truly blessed place he plays in. No wonder the congregation are inspired to sing with such vibrancy!

I was still unsettled regarding the deflation of the church’s energy. Always I had in the back of my mind the mysterious communiqué during my walk in the fields, “the reason why there are so few crop circles this year is to do with what is happening with St Mary's Church.”  I just felt that the hearty reappearance of the crop circles would signal the recovery of the Goddess energy flowing through Garsington hill.

During my chat with the organist he told me that ‘vandals’ had returned once again and caused more damage to roof, stealing lead and causing the roof to leak again. When buildings leak, whether through plumbing or weather they are crying, they need to be consoled. When my daughter decided to leave her previous home the house began to spring leaks immediately. The shower leaked, the roof leaked, even the under floor plumbing decided to spring and flood the kitchen. The concrete floor had to be taken up for that one. You see the house was a 3 energy, and 3s love the energy of children (and animals) around. The house loved having my grandkids there and didn’t know whether the next occupants would have children. They did have and the house has settled down again, even a roof leak that defeated me no longer exists.

On my drive home I had an idea. A few years ago I had corresponded with David Cowan, an excellent dowser of renown. (17) He walked hundreds of miles across Scotland following his dowsing rods and discovered sacred sites and their alignments. His work is recorded in a marvellous book he wrote with Anne Silk, “Ancient Energies of the Earth”. (18) This book was later updated and republished as “Ley Lines and Earth Energies” this time collaborating with Chris Arnold. (19) He also wrote, “As Safe as Houses” with Rodney Girdlestone, a book that explains how the activities and interruptions in the flow of natural Earth energy can affect health. (20) I decided to write to David, which I did, explaining the whole story. David suggested that I procure a simple quartz crystal and squeeze it in a G-clamp. He said that this will decrease the wavelength and so increase the power. He advised that I then place it on a standing stone or an energy ley and that this will increase the power for some considerable distance. I did this; in fact I used several crystals. The gardener was there again and I could feel his eyes on me. The recent troubles have probably made everyone jittery. I managed to cover most of the points around the church but that still left the tower. I did what I could. Surely no matter how strong the power is a Faraday Cage will intercept it? I did notice though that there are some small holes in the sheeting so perhaps the increased surge might take advantage of these. This was on 13th July and I and others had been sending healing to the hill, and by default the St Michael Line and its tributaries, for over a month.
Fabulous designs had begun to appear in the fields of southern England. Some were truly breathtaking, sincere and beautiful. Others though remarkably efficient in design felt wrong to me, including the awesome Wayland Smithy pattern. (21) I was fortunate enough to be part of something really delightful during a visit to the stunningly exquisite formation behind the White Horse at Uffington (below right). (22) A dear friend felt and received the healing power inscribed in the pattern. For the full story please read my article Crop Circle Predictions. (23)
