Read on Crop Circle Research on Monday morning (23rd August) that another serpent/dragon formation had appeared in the same field; so I headed off for Garsington. As I looked out over the fields from Garsington church I couldn't see any other formations in that field or any other but decided to have a closer look anyway.
I walked down the public footpath and instead of heading for the B480 decided to walk up the rise to the northeast corner of the field. I still couldn't see anything other than the first dragon, which now appeared to show up a little more clearly than it did the last time I visited. And then I heard a helicopter approaching from the northeast over my left shoulder. I quickly pointed the camera at the R.A.F. helicopter (which was made rather awkward because it was still attached to the pole) and snapped it as it flew over to the first dragon and then over the road to the field adjacent. I took 3 shots retracted the pole and looked up again to see where the helicopter was - it had gone, I could neither hear nor see it. Maybe it was moving quicker than it seemed. Anyway I thought I'd record the time and as I don't (can't) wear a watch I pulled my mobile phone out to read it from there. To my surprise it said I had a missed call. I hadn't heard the phone ring. I called the number back and discovered that they had not called me. (According to the camera clock the helicopter appeared at 10.02.) Some of the photos I took came out a little strange - some very dark and others, including one of the helicopter, very blurred. Maybe there is an easy explanation for all of this but I thought I'd mention it.
Having drawn a blank re the second serpent/dragon formation I decided to call in on Geoff Ambler (Oxford Crop Circle Group) to ascertain whether he had any knowledge of its whereabouts. He too had read about the formation in the same field and he agreed to come out to Garsington with me. On the way down to the field we came upon a farm worker and I asked him if he knew of a crop circle. He said that they had cut one yesterday, told us where it was and invited us to go and take a look at it. He said it wasn't much, just a circle with lines poking out of it. He added that there was another in the next field (Dragon One) but that it was only a circle, we could go and have a look at that one as well if we liked. Such a nice guy but one felt that if the meaning of life slapped him round the kisser he wouldn't recognise it. These farmers they know not what they do. On our way to the severed serpent I resolved to ask the farmer if he would mind notifying us if they are about to chop a field. He was such an amiable chap and I thought there's no harm in asking. Unfortunately when we returned he'd legged it and I didn't get the chance.

personally the way I look at this phenomenon they are all genuine. What motivates the hoaxer? Is water from a tap hoaxed and water from the sky the genuine article? All I know is that the two formations may have looked similar but they certainly felt very different.
In the first part of these reports I noted how the first formation seems to have formed on the feast day of the Assumption of Mary (15th August). This second formation appeared on Mary's feast day as Queen of Heaven (22nd August). Yet remember that Queen of Heaven is a title given to many Goddesses including Diana, Isis and Maat the consort of Thoth (See page 1). The Church says that Mary as Queen of Heaven relates to the woman in Revelations.
Another occult detail that may have much to do with this second serpentine formation is that it appeared when the Leonine star Regulus sits upon the Ecliptic heralding a change of seasons (a beginning and an end). Regulus also forms part of what is known as 'the Sickle' - and this serpent was cut...quick! Same day it seems. At the same time the moon was moving through the two brightest stars Zuben Algenubi and Zuben Alshamali in the constellation Libra (the Scales), they mark the pans that weigh the hearts of the dead against Maat's feather of truth. As I said I don't believe in coincidences.
These two articles were done on the hoof, as it were. I hope to be able to expand and tidy them up in the near future.

We located the poor beast laying forlorn in the southwest corner of the field. Not much to see other than its bare bones all mangled and stripped clean by the relentless mechanical prairie predators. We measured as best we could its length (200 feet) and its breadth (78feet). Having said all this I don't know whether I liked the energy of this one. It certainly felt different to the first one. Geoff reckoned that it could be because it had been runover by the combine harvester. Maybe. Hoax maybe too but then
