Denette, a delightfully kind and energetic lady, passed away at her home in Redditch on Saturday afternoon.
In an email, only days before, Denette wrote that she was suffering from a mystery illness and that she was in touch with other people who had it too. These other people had been through courses of antibiotics to no avail. She wrote, "you cough till you are sick - hence the weight loss."
She had just celebrated 26 years of marriage to Paul.

UPDATE
Denette's sister Julie has emailed me to say that Denette "apparently died from invasional ductal carcinoma of the right breast..." - according to the coroner's office.

A few years ago, on a visit to the Lake district with Denette and Paul, Denette and I walked down to the shore of Buttermere. This is a picture I took on that walk.

Denette was a familiar face in the 'alternative world' - she was a graphic artist, a driving instructor, a fellow experiencer, a healer and an avid mystery investigator. She was also a natural environment campaigner.
Four years ago she spoke at a conference I organised in Oxford. Here is Denette's profile page from then:

On the same trip we visited the Kirkstone Pass Inn for a spot of (successful) orb hunting. Here are some pics with Denette in.
My apologies for the small size and indistinct clarity I am abroad and cannot access the originals.
Speakers: Denette France, Brian Allan, Susan G. White, Michael Soper,
Ellis Taylor, Bagoll the Traveller
